An early photo from the Jack Tillmany collection.
Dates: It's listed in the September 1909 and September 1910 City Directories as the Gem Theatre.
Jack Tillmany notes: "The address may be either 2542 or 2544. But when I drove by it many
years ago, it was a TV shop, and the address was 2540. Above ground level, nothing has
changed!"
Status: The ground floor is now a Chinese market using the 2542 address. It's that building left of center with the olive trim that was the Gem Theatre. It's a 2016 Google Maps view.
