Opening: The Project Artaud took over the abandoned building in 1971. It had been built in 1925 for the American Can Co. It's in the Mission district between Florida and Alabama streets and between 17th and 18th. Thanks to Jack Tillmany for sharing the c.1995 photo by Tom Gray that he has in his collection.

Status: Alive and well. The building now houses three theatres, two dance studios and many live/work spaces. The original 450 Florida address is now the entrance for Z Space.
