The Jet Set

151 Ellis St. | map |

Opened: It was running in the 1960s. This foreign film house was advertising "Danish Movies." Thanks to Jack Tillmany for sharing this photo from his collection that was taken by Tom Gray. Jack notes that no newspaper ads have been found for the Jet Set and adds:

"For the record, it was on the SW corner of Ellis St. and Anna Lane which is now named Cyril Magnin Way as part of the 5th St. extension on the North side of Market St. It was 'redeveloped' in the name of progress and traffic flow."

A detail from Tom's photo. Jack comments: "Only Tom Gray would photograph the Jet Set. 'Don't Come In If You Have a Weak Heart!' - Dontcha LOVE IT!"
