Opened: January 1971. Thanks to Jack Tillmany for sharing this photo in his collection that was taken by Tom Gray. The theatre was south of Market, on the east side of the street between Mission St. and Howard St. Gary Parks comments: 

"Classic 60s/70s marquee. It’s interesting how—in that time—there was a trend back toward animated lightbulb borders on marquees, rather than neon. I recall there was a late 60s, and all-though-the-70s trend toward glorifying the late 19th/early 20th Centuries. Think Straw Hat Pizza, and Farrell’s Ice Cream. An aesthetic making one think of 'The Music Man.' And it was the golden age of snappy, punny titles for porn films…"

Closed: August 1975. Thanks to Jack for researching the dates.

Status: The building survives, now with an unknown tenant on the ground floor and the Sun Set Hotel on the upper levels.
